Established in 2018, Marys Myth is an up and coming Multi-Region winery based in the Adelaide Hills.
After wine maker Alister McMichael returned from his ventures in the Mosel region of Germany, North-ern Canterbury in New Zealand and the Finger Lakes Region in New York he wished to start his own label in the Adelaide hills where he grew up.
Using the knowledge he acquired overseas, as well as locally, Alister teamed up with old Friends Evan Starkey and Emily Haigh. Mary’s Myth was then established, the name coming from the discovery that all had grandmothers named Mary.
Palate This wine is medium to full bodied with a perfect balance of fruit, spice and savoury characteristics. Rich black raspberry dominates the palate. This is held together by a strong and slightly astringent tannin structure. Delicious drinking.
Palate The palate dances with vibrant red fruits including raspberry, cranberry and red currant. The firm tannic structure adds the perfect amount of savoury texture and the long finish is riddled with pepper spice and toasty char.
Aroma Pronounced aromas of spiced raspberry, mulberry and blueberry with traces of fennel and tomato leaf herbaceousness woven throughout. A slight char from French oak lifts the fruit spice accentuating characters of nutmeg and clove.

Appearance Deep Ruby
Palate Whole peppercorns on top of brambly dark ripe fruits, blackberry, blueberry, black currant leaf and cinnamon. The finish is very long with building waves of toasted cedar and hints of aged prosciutto.
Aroma Intense aromas of black raspberry, plum with hints of nutmeg, star anise and cedar.
