Heemskerk Coal River Valley Chardonnay 2015 (RRP $50 WM $45.90) (case of 6 left only)
Flamboyantly expressive of its terroir with minerality, texture and fleshy stonefruit characters. This wine opens with vivid aromas of wet limestone, pink grapefruit and white blossom followed ever so delicately by hazelnut kernel. The palate is initially expressive of mineral, wet-slate flavours and textures, before opening up to reveal fleshy nectarine and white peach. Despite 100% natural malolactic fermentation, the wine has extensive purity, drive and length.
Heemskerk Coal River Valley Chardonnay Pinot Noir 2012 (RRP $60 WM $54.90)
An icily refreshing showcase of pristine, cool-climate fruit with incredible elegance and persistence. The flavours of Pinot Noir are supported by the intense structure of Chardonnay to produce a wine of incredible elegance and length. Aromatic notes of briney sea spray, camomile and delicate apple blossom are followed by earthy undertones of smokey sandalwood and fresh brioche. On the palate, the racy acidity and pithy phenolics give the wine an added dimension and texture and lead through to a pristine finish.
Heemskerk Derwent Valley Pinot Noir 2015 (RRP $60 WM $54.90)
A wonderful compote of dark cherry, rhubarb, earthy highlights and persistent silky tannins. Garnet red with an amalgam of flavours, forest floor, black earth and hazelnut praline are underpinned by dark cherry, stewed rhubarb and brambly fruits. With understated mocha oak and a fine, long silky tannin structure, this is a wine with wonderful length and persistence of flavour.
